About us
At Springfit we encourage you to work at your own pace. Providing equal opportunities for all participants to enjoy classes without prejudice or belittlement, we operate with a full code of ethics and welfare officers. Rewarding those who show promise and progress with awards and medals throughout the year. For those who do wish to compete, we are able to train gymnasts up to a high level, and hold regular competitions against other local clubs in your local area.
Classes we offer at The Jubilee Centre:
FunFit:
FunFit is our introduction to the world of gymnastics. These classes are for Preschool children and are focused on Fun!
What makes these classes special is the opportunity to try both gymnastics and trampolining in one class, typically the class will be split into two groups and spend half their time on each activity after a group game and warm up. This classes follow both the Gymnastics and Trampolining Springfit proficiency award schemes, and will take children through basic movements and skills needed to lead on to each discipline in the future.
Gymnastics (Beginners, Improvers, Advanced)
The majority of Springift’s Gymnastics classes are split into three levels according to ability. Beginners, Improvers and Advanced Each of these classes follows the Springfit proficiency award scheme (Badgework) and an annual equipment rota.
Beginners – Introducing children from age 4 to gymnastics. Using basic skills to build balance, co-ordination and agility.
Improvers – Building on members’ existing gymnastics experience. Developing moves such as handstands, cartwheels, round-off, squat-through on vault and introducing higher level acrobatics skills. Building strength and flexibility through appropriate drills to enable bodies to be able to withstand the demands of more advanced moves.
Advanced – Developing gymnasts towards advanced skills and expanding overall capabilities and attitudes to training. Progressing onto moves such as flics, walkovers, handsprings and somersaults.
Trampolining (all abilities)
All abilities classes run on two or three trampolines with a Head Coach leading the class. Members rotate round the trampolines taking turns on both practice trampolines and with the Head Coach. Springfit encourage parents and carers to stay in to help with “spotting”, this is standing on the edges of the trampoline in order to make sure the member bouncing has the safest environment possible. When with the Head Coach, members will receive one to one tuition progressing them through the Springfit proficiency awards scheme.
Adult Classes (gymnastics & trampolining)
Gymnastics – Our adult classes are designed to offer every person no matter how experienced a chance to build on core aspects of physical development in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Our Coaches will help you to do moves that you never thought possible! All classes start with a pulse raiser and a stretch preparing you for the main bulk working on gymnastics skills.
Trampolining – Trampolining is an individual sport and you will work your way through a range of skills with an experienced coach working with you one to one, with time to practice and play around with the moves on other trampolines alongside your peers. Depending on what you would like to get out of your classes you could come along and perfect all your basic skills which incidentally would make the more advanced skills easier to learn, or you can just come for the enjoyment of being in the air and improving your fitness at the same time.
