My partner kindly bought me a personalised balloon for my birthday this weekend. He purchased it on Friday afternoon in the Horsham store and come Saturday he had it in its party shop bag in the boot of his car (hidden as a surprise for me – nothing else was in the boot). We heard a bang and he knew immediately – by the time we finished the journey we checked and the whole top of the balloon had split. He was so disappointed so I called the shop (I worked there 10 years ago for a year) and mentioned the issue – they said it could have been pierced but I said it was in the bag and nothing was around. Bearing in mind we weren’t in town at the time I said I could go in today (Monday) to show them as my partner is in the office and I’m working from home. I went in and spoke to the “manager” who I think is called Izzy (has blue hair) and it went very quickly wrong. I told them exactly what happened and was told that they can’t replace the balloon and they’d have to charge me for another. So I asked why as it’s clearly a manufacturing issue and apparently it’s because it could’ve “got too hot or got pierced”. I said if the balloon lasted less than 24 hours and was safe in the bag surely that’s not my problem but was told it is. She then went on to say she was “warned about me by the manager Rachel” and “warned not to give me a refund” – she quickly got an attitude and said “its not her fault” which I never said it was, I said it was a balloon issue. I was told I could speak to Rachel (the actual manager) about it but I said I wasn’t going to waste my time. Then as I was leaving my mum heard this “Izzy” call me a B***H. So when she called her out and said “I’m sorry?” I took a step back and said “say it again”. It took her a few seconds to think about what lie she was going to tell and then she said she “said it was a bad situation” – clearly nothing alike. When my mum said she needs to watch her attitude if she’s a so called manager and she said she’s “not going to tolerate ABUSE from us” – I had been wholly calm and polite, just asked why it wasn’t easy to replace the balloon.
I’m not going to be spoken to that way. For the sake of a £4.50 balloon goodwill gesture they have well and truly shown their colours as a store. I would strongly recommend that people go ANYWHERE ELSE but the party shop. Horribly rude staff with absolutely zero customer service skills. Will be contacting head office – I hope it was worth it!
non stop party shop to the rescue again, didnt buy the balloon from themselves and ran out of helium half way through, they inflated the rest and sorted a weight for a very affordable price!!!

So I ordered and paid for a cluster of baby shower balloons, but my niece had other ideas and came 5 weeks early, called up non stop party shop and explained and asked to change my order to a nee baby girl cluster instead, they were so good and had it all ready short notice for me, highly recommended, friendly and very helpful!!!
